কানাডার আলবার্টা প্রদেশ প্রযুক্তি কর্মীদের জন্য নতুন অভিবাসন প্রোগ্রাম চালু করেছে। আলবার্টার অভিবাসন মন্ত্রী টাইলার শানড্রো সম্প্রতি এক্সিলারেটেড টেক পাথওয়ে ঘোষণা করেছেন। প্রদেশটি ইতিমধ্যেই ডিসেম্বরে নতুন প্রোগ্রামে আবেদন গ্রহণ করা শুরু করেছে।

যোগ্য হওয়ার জন্য প্রযুক্তি পেশাদারদের ফেডারেল সরকারের এক্সপ্রেস এন্ট্রি সিস্টেমে একটি প্রোফাইল থাকতে হবে এবং আলবার্টা এক্সপ্রেস এন্ট্রি স্ট্রিমের জন্য যোগ্য হতে হবে।

শানড্রো বলেন, এই প্রোগ্রামের মাধ্যমে বিদেশি প্রযুক্তিকর্মীরা মাত্র ছয় মাসের মধ্যে স্থায়ী বাসিন্দা হতে পারে। যদিও এক্সপ্রেস এন্ট্রি প্রক্রিয়াকরণে গড়ে নয় মাসের মতো সময় লাগে। অগ্রাধিকার আবেদন প্রক্রিয়াকরণের পাশাপাশি, কারিগরি পেশাদারদের যদি ওয়ার্ক পারমিটের প্রয়োজন হয় তবে তারা আলবার্টা সরকারের কাছ থেকে সমর্থনের একটি চিঠিও পাবেন।

আলবার্টা এন্টারপ্রাইজ কর্পোরেশন অনুসারে, আলবার্টাতে তিন হাজারের বেশি প্রযুক্তি কোম্পানি রয়েছে। ২০২১ আলবার্টা টেকনোলজি ডিল ফ্লো স্টাডি অনুসারে, ০১২ সাল থেকে আলবার্টার প্রযুক্তি খাত ২৩৩% বৃদ্ধি পেয়েছে। প্রযুক্তি সংস্থাগুলো এখনও কর্মীদের বিশেষত বিক্রয় এবং প্রযুক্তিগত দক্ষদের পেতে চ্যালেঞ্জের মুখোমুখি হচ্ছে।
